While researching over Internet for my clients on how they can maximize each stay, it always comes down to holding a status with a chain. Since Starwood/Marriott merger, I have slowly started acknowledging Marriott stays and try book few there.

Their current get a complimentary night out of 2 stays is extremely generous.

The latest offer is Marriott Platinum Challenge.

Platinum (top-tier) requires just 9 stays in 90 days.  Normally the only qualification is 75 nights. The Marriott has no index for stays. This makes the offer tidbit interesting. This is the half of the platinum challenge requirement by Starwood.

Your platinum would last you through February 2019 which is fabulous. You would also become Ritz Carlton and SPG Platinum by default. Ofcourse it is easy to acquire Platinum but harder to maintain it.  However, this offer gets you in top of the echelon.

World of Hyatt has more customers running away from them than going towards them. Only bit where they created massive loyalty during their Hyatt Gold Passport days remains with them.

Way to register for Challenge?

This is the hard part – you would require to call Marriott call line and require you to ask them to register you for the challenge. I would definitely recommend people to line up for this challenge and maximize it’s potential.

What Are The Key Benefits?

Most of the benefits Marriott offers their top-tier guests are inline with other programs. Free breakfast, free and fast internet, free upgrades – are really along the lines of other programs, Hilton being one that closely aligns.

Marriott Rewards Platinum elites will also have an instant status match available to SPG it’s worth noting what SPG (Starwood Preferred Guest) gives their Platinum guests. From the below image two items were cut off: 1) Club/executive lounge privileges where available (Platinum only). 2) SPG Nights Benefits award Platinum members with even more after 50, 75, and 100 nights in a calendar year.
