1. Introduction

I had reviewed Four Points by Sheraton, New Delhi before as well. It is an average hotel if you just want a quick layover with an SPG property near the airport. The major caveat with the hotel is that it doesn’t offer free airport pickup/drop unless there are designated hours of shuttle service. This being an airport hotel, it is a non-starter for me.

Further, the hotel isn’t the best value for the money or the points. They only have one suite room. So chances of you getting full benefits as a Platinum Member are less. They don’t have lounge service either.

However, it being SPG category one hotel, it is a perfect use of points if you just want to have quick change over. You would part from 2000 to 3000 points depending on when you book it. You also get free breakfast when you book using points.

In New Delhi, there are many semi-luxurious to luxurious properties around the airport that provide pick and drop including JW Marriott, Holiday Inn, Novotel, Pullman to name few.

I was fortunate that I got their only suite room at the property.

  2. Check-In

As the reception is small and only two people manning it, they might ask you to get seated opposite to the reception.

Once they got to me, I insisted on getting the suite room for the review. Otherwise, it would have been a waste of money. The only reason I was at this hotel was to review it.

My room number is 110. The room is few steps right to the reception area. When you open the door, you see a few rooms. The Suite room is at the end of the hall.

  3. Room

The room ends into a small hallway. The washroom is to the left and Bedroom to the right. Straight ahead is the living room.

    Bedroom

When you open the door to the Bedroom, there is a washroom ahead.

A round table with a lounge chair can be seen in the corner. Right next to it is a comfortable king size bed with an LCD facing it.

The switchboard in the room is old school with its switches. There is a study/dressing table at the end of the room with a wooden chair.

The room was large and spacious. Although, there wasn’t much of a view to be seen from the window.

The Living room felt like separate altogether.

What didn’t make sense from the seating point of view is that there was a couch facing the mini bar, but I understand the alternative would be useless furniture.

I like the wooden furnishing of the room. At the end of it is a table for 4.

Next to the dining table is a couch set with a table in the middle. There is TV on the wall. I like this room. It is sad that they only have one of it in this hotel. The Living room is indeed very cosy and inviting. There is a long window parallel to the room where you can idly gaze at a garden outside.

The view outside

  1. Washroom

There was no bathtub! Shocker! I didn’t feel there was much difference in the bathroom from those in the standard rooms.

You have a single sink on the left

There was an average white commode opposite the sink. Luckily, there was water spray bidet next to the commode

The shower cabin had normal round head shower up there. Toileteries were in the dispenser. So if you are one of those who don’t like dispenser or are not sure how hygenic they are then bring your own.

There is Half washroom opposite the bedroom which had a sink and a commode.

  2. Fitness Center

This time I had the chance to see Fitness center in the basement. It is spacious for doing Yoga and solo workouts. The good part is that this gym is always empty. I didn’t even see any staff here.

The equipment is very basic. This is a place where I can get a quick workout but don’t expect a modern gym workout.

  3. Service and Food

When you come to Four points, don’t expect many food choices. The breakfast is bare minimum here. There is not much for people with dietary requirements. The view is great for the breakfast though.

The service at this hotel is average. It is not so great or extremely horrible. I would like to give special thanks to Ms. Kohli who was generous enough to take care of my requirements.

  4. Bottomline

I doubt I would visit this hotel again to spend my precious dime as it is overpriced according to my standards. However, it is perfect to redeem my points and get a quick lay over. The Suite is great. However, there is only one and the chances of me snagging it every time I come are less. Moreover, the food quality is strictly average. I wish they improved their menu and food options.
