For most of the consumers who love full carriers and can’t get enough of them in India, Vistara is considered to be answers to their prayers. So far everything we have been hearing a lot of great stuff from Vistara including serving of Starbucks coffee up in the air.

Vistara has launched a new campaign where if you book directly with them vs using OTA(Online Travel Agency), you would get even more benefits. Vistara is offering tons of features for their customers to use their website to get benefits.

Free change/cancellation within 24 hours of booking

Modify or cancel your tickets within 24 hours of booking at no extra cost as long as your travel is at least 7 days in future.

This feature has been there with Jet Airways for a while but in this scenario, Vistara added a twist as the travel should be more than 7 days away. So that last second ticket you book but then suddenly the plan gets dropped for some reason, you still won’t get to cancel the trip for free.

 Complimentary Vistara Priority services

Enjoy Priority Check-in at specially designated counters, along with Priority baggage handling and Priority boarding, with our compliments.

This is normally available to premium passengers who pay a lot of money to the airlines. For some reason, Vistara is freely giving it away. I am not sure how premium passengers going to feel about this as there would be more queue at premium counters vs only passengers who hold status with them. This is diluting the premium experience for others.

Additional 5 kg baggage allowance

Pack in a little more when you book directly with Vistara.  For a limited time, check-in an additional 5 kg of luggage for free, irrespective of class of travel.

This is truly a nifty thing where your minimum baggage goes from 15kg to 20 Kg and Vistara is probably only airlines to provide minimum 20 kg all customers. It is yet to be seen as what would happen to Silver, Gold and Platinum members. Maybe they would get more value added into this.

2x Club Vistara Points

Club Vistara members get 2x bonus CV Points every time they book direct. In addition, with every ticket purchased through Vistara Direct, Club Vistara members get closer to exclusive milestone rewards.

Vistara points are pseudo-revenue based. Members earn money spent on airline vs distance flown with them. However, getting that free flight at half the effort is still worth it. Again it is not known that elite members also get 2x points on top of what they are already getting or this is just for converting new customers. Elite members get 11 CV points currently per 100 spent.

Special Discounts available only on our website and app.

Vistara has a famous 10% family and friends discount where you get 10% discount if you book for more than 2 passengers at a time.

Bottomline

Vistara is still not confirming by a wide margin that you would get the best fares across the internet on their website. However, it is definitely offering the most benefits for direct booking with them vs using any of the Online Travel Agencies. A lot of those benefits can easily change the travel experience directly. I just hope Vistara removes cancellation charges for their Platinum to really entice them. One feature that I greatly appreciate with Jet Airways.
